What defines VoIP?
VoIP (Voice over IP) enables transmission of voice traffic over IP networks. Clear benefit of this technology is the fact that only one (IP) network is needed, thus providing considerable savings on operational costs. Not any IP network is fit for VoIP. Specifics concerning network delays (latency) and prioritizing (Quality-of-Service) need to be carefully considered.
Where is VoIP applied?
Most new PBX systems are VoIP based and thus offer new possibilities such as Unified Messaging. Gateways need to be engineered to connect traditional environments to such modern VoIP surroundings, or in order to transmit multiple voice channels over IP.
Qi ict implements gateways by Patton Electronics and RAD Data communications.
