These past few years Alcaltel-Lucent has developed a new range of Ethernet switches, containing very high throughput speeds and reliability, such as OmniSwitch 9700, OmniSwitch 6850 and OmniSwitch 6400 series.
Also, the Alcatel-Lucent portfolio offers wireless solutions based on 3rd generation wireless equipment. Using this equipment, the wireless network may be built to be a so called overlay network. This enables controlling of traffic from wireless users before being transferred to the LAN.
